Genesis doo is a Vojvodina company that has been operating in Kanjiza for 28 years. It’s a family firm that the second generation is now managing. It deals with importing food raw materials and drying vegetables and spices. Our number of employees is close to 100. The initial wholesale activity, which remains one of the cornerstones of our company, changed after 20 years after we built our first drying facility in 2014 and shortly after the next drying line in 2017. Our main activity is supplying food companies on the territory of Serbia, surrounding countries, and the EU with raw materials such as spices, dried vegetables, additives, teas, and glass packaging.

COMPANY DEVELOPMENT AND ENTREPRENEURIAL STORY
We started in 1994 when there was the highest inflation, when there was no banking system, when we were importing goods with special permits from Unprofor and as the only payment system abroad was bartel business. In the 1990s, representatives of foreign companies were present on the Serbian market, offering imported raw materials. Competing with such firms, backed by parent companies in Europe, capital, technology, and market knowledge seemed impossible at the time. All that, Geneza did not have but had other values such as perseverance, the ability to hear the needs of partners, in order to always offer exactly what they really need. Our desire is to constantly improve knowledge, invest in continuous business development, and be an honest and reliable partner to its customers.
We worked often obsessively and at the expense of our family, we did everything we could to make Geneza a company that is now known throughout the region and can be a strategic partner to many companies in the food industry. We wanted to prove that a small-sized domestic company can be able to be an equal partner in the supply of quality raw materials.
CONTRIBUTION TO SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT GOALS
Geneza has implemented the FSA (Farm Sustainability Assessments) standard, which is the standard of one of the agricultural processing auditors with the widest spectrum and of great international importance. The certificate officially confirms the quantitative and quality use of land within these enterprises, as well as the safety of production on their agricultural lands, i.e. the long-term sustainability of local agricultural practices. The standards aim to set a benchmark for further steps and progress towards environmentally sustainable production, which also protects the environment. The FSA (the Sustainable Agriculture Initiative) is a means to include the concept of sustainability in the economy so that it can be evaluated and improved. The basis of this program is that the institution that conducts the audit cooperates with production and processing companies and with agricultural producers who are in a contractual relationship.
The platform is designed to support agricultural producers and businesses to reorient and focus on sustainable agricultural practices. FSA advocates for global sustainable development, thus creating new opportunities for the successful emergence of Vojvodina agricultural products on the world market. This serious recognition has caught the attention of the global multinational company Nestlé.
