LAZAR d.o.o. Blace has been engaged in multisectoral business for decades. Further to milk processing and cheese production, we run a dairy farm with a capacity of 1,400 cows, we cultivate 1,200ha of land and cherry orchards on an area of 240ha. We recognised the importance and advantages of applying “green” technologies, and we were among the first in Serbia to carry out a project using biodegradable waste for electricity production at our biogas plant with a capacity of 1 MW.
Our team of 220 employees performs production, control, packaging, hygiene inspection, improvement of production technology, milking, maintaining the health of dairy cows, food preparation, and all other daily tasks. We aim to supply our clients with top-quality products that meet the strictest standards (HACCP, ISO 22000 FSSC, and IFS). Our products are available in our own extensive retail network and in all major retail chains in the Balkans, the European Union, the Customs Union, and the Middle East.

COMPANY DEVELOPMENT AND ENTREPRENEURIAL STORY
LAZAR was launched in 1994 as a consumer goods store with two employees. In 1998 we expanded our scope of activities to milk processing and production of dairy products, processing daily 1000 litres of milk. The expansion was facilitated by the unpolluted environment in which our dairy is set and by the availability of resources. LAZAR’s capacity at present is 85,000 litres, and is based on milk supplied from the districts of Toplica, Rasina, Zlatibor, Nisava, Raska, and Sumadija. Our products stand for quality, high standards, and guaranteed safety. The journey we’ve undertaken was full of challenges. Global competition, limited availability of external financing, legislative framework, and ever-changing customer requirements – are among the obstacles that LAZAR must overcome to make its mission and vision come through.
Successful cooperation with the Government, local community, numerous domestic and foreign partners, and employment of educated and professional staff – are some of the factors that have enabled the growth and development of LAZAR.
CONTRIBUTION TO SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT GOALS
The company is successful only to the extent its staff is satisfied. We hire local families willing to join us and with interest in what we do. We invest in their development, internal training, and seminars. We employ workers of both sexes evenly.
