COMPANY DEVELOPMENT AND ENTREPRENEURIAL STORY
The founders of the company are Milos and Milorad Jovanovic and from the very beginning of MICROLINE they decided to focus on the development and production of dental instruments. The main reason behind the decision was their market analysis which showed that there was almost no competition in the Balkans in this area. The experience in creating new products gained in “Prva Petoletka” helped MICROLINE develop new high-precision products, that are today the company’s main feature. The market was open for this type of products so MICROLINE’s operation developed faster than expected and a major challenge in MICROLINE’s development was the lack of finance for the procurement of appropriate equipment. The company was financed from personal funds and form the profit for the first 10 years because no development loans were available at the time. The turning point was entering cooperation with the Canadian company “Sable Industries Inc”. Later on MICROLINE has entered a similar arrangement with the English company “Barden”. MICROLINE and “Barden” cooperate in the procurement of ball bearings for the dental industry. Production in MICROLINE requires constant monitoring of new technological processes.
CONTRIBUTION TO SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT GOALS
The number of staff (Goal 8) has increased with higher production volume. Our staff with many years of experience in certain positions are promoted to new positions. Thus they get more responsible and complex jobs and proportional increase in salary. We try to provide employees with the best possible working conditions, and enough time for breaks and socialising. MICROLINE became involved in the schooling system of “dual education” for the last few years (Goal 4).
