COMPANY DEVELOPMENT AND ENTREPRENEURIAL STORY
Slobodanka Markovic, founded Tetragon in 1992. The company began producing dextrin adhesives and casein glues. The company “Knjaz Milos” imported label adhesives, and due to the sanctions at the time, an opportunity for small producers arose on the market. After the development of the local market and the opening of foreign markets, the first export followed. The key moment in the business was establishing partnerships with the companies Drenik ND(Serbia) and Mondi group, which operate internationally. Tetragon had received the status of category A European supplier and having acquired ownership of the SEAF Impact Fund, begun the construction of new production facilities with expanded production capacity. The biggest challenges in the market were the competitors operating globally. The company motto is “Aiming for Mars, but making it to the Moon is also a victory”, so naturally, Tetragon entered the global market. In that global competition game, Tetragon scored extremely high in R&D, which represents its greatest advantage. The quality of the product and business flexibility are the foundation of the company’s positioning in the market.

Mechanical engineering has greatly accelerated over the last 10 years and it is Tetragon’s imperative to follow this acceleration in order to be current in the market. Investments in the laboratory and staff education are necessary in order to achieve global competitiveness. We can boast of 27 innovative types of glue last year. Tetragon meets REACH regulations for chemical control. Four years ago, Tetragon employed a certified chemicals consultant. We have also succeeded in replacing solvents with water glues in the sponge industry.
