COMEX d.o.o. is a family company founded in 1990 in Sabac, Serbia. Since the beginning, COMEX has been privately owned. Today it is a leader in the production of flexible materials for food and non-food packaging. The company’s goal is to provide innovative solutions for packaging a wide variety of products. COMEX builds its position on continuous investment in technology and human resources. COMEX works with over 200 local and foreign clients, employs over 100 workers, and sells over 4,200 tons of packaging material per year. The company’s strategy is to maintain the highest global standards in the specialised segment of flexographic printing and the packaging industry in general. Our main clients include large domestic, regional, and EU companies: Drenik, Beohemija, Bambi, The Fun & Fit, Vitamin, Sirogojno, PIP, Dr Oetker, Don Don, Piramida 72, Masterfruits, Crops, and partners.

COMPANY DEVELOPMENT AND ENTREPRENEURIAL STORY
Mr. Zivorad Arsenovic and Mr. Rajko Pribilovic have founded COMEX in 1990. At the time business environment in the country was extremely unfavourable for firms with rigid structures and organisation of the business. It was an opportunity for people and firms with an alternative approach to work to position themselves on the market. We were guided by the idea of flexible and high-quality service and that enabled us to achieve our goals. Given that the industry is extremely demanding in respect of technology, staff training and investment in advanced technologies were a prerequisite for our survival and development. COMEX oversees today a comprehensive business process from the receipt of job details to the product finalisation and shipment. Mastering new technology has always been a decisive factor in winning new markets and customers. Hence our biggest investments were crucial for the development: installation of printing machines, installation of Coex machines, and the establishment of the pre-press department.Over the years we have also faced various challenges not directly related to the company’s operation: the unstable exchange rate, the global economic crisis, and last but not least the war in Ukraine.
CONTRIBUTION TO SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT GOALS
Sustainable development is at present not only a trend but a growing need. To this end, COMEX has installed a photovoltaic power plant with a capacity of 650 kWh which covers about half of our electricity consumption. COMEX has installed a laser cleaning machine for anilox rollers toprotect the environment and to minimise the use of chemicals used in conventional printing. We believe that by investing in technology and by ensuring consistent growth we greatly contribute to local economic development and the living standard of our staff.
