GM CONVERTING

GM CONVERTING was founded in 2005. It is engaged in the production of machines for the flexo industry and supporting structures for machines (extruders). We also produce various parts according to the attached documentation. We dismantle, repair, assemble, and service machines. GM CONVERTING is predominantly export-oriented. We work for renowned German companies – global leaders in that program. We also work for Serbian companies, we are present in the region, and also globally. We have worked or assembled our products in America, Switzerland, the UK, Brazil, Russia, Kazakhstan, Turkey, Saudi Arabia, Iran, and the EU countries: Germany, Spain, Portugal, France, Belgium, and Poland.
We mainly cooperate with companies in the flexo industry such as: W&H, Kuhne, Alpina, Reifenhauser, CMG. We would particularly emphasise the long-term cooperation with the Institute for Nuclear Research CERN which we supply with parts and various structures.

The company was conceived and established as a family business, the founder and owner is Dejan Savic. We decided on this type of business because Gornji Milanovac has always had a developed industry for the production of packaging.
The company developed as a private business in Serbia. The more our company grew the more demand there was for our services, and we’ve entered the foreign market on the recommendation of a machine dealer from Slovenia. He recognised that we could do it. In the beginning, as of now, we cooperated with many small companies that did what we did but did not have the competitive equipment and knowledge. Through years of successful work, education and acquisition of the equipment, we have concluded that we now do most of the work ourselves.
The financing of the company mostly came from our own funds with smaller loans, which we repaid without any problems. There were no major problems in business, although it could have been better if the exchange rate was a little more favourable for export-oriented firms.
