TEHNOPLAST’s main product is junction boxes for circuit breakers. Our product development and improvement begin with market research when we look for the most efficient solutions and products that meet the needs of our clients. We increase sales by attending renowned technology fairs abroad, where we make a large number of contacts with potential clients. In addition to the best price-quality ratio, customers demand short delivery times and a wide range of products. Many years of experience, the dedication of our team, and full commitment to detail allow us to meet customer requirements while constantly upgrading quality and product design.

COMPANY DEVELOPMENT AND ENTREPRENEURIAL STORY
The founder of the company is Miodrag Bocanin, who in 1968 established a company for making tools and injection moulding for technically demanding plastic parts. Dragan Bocanin took over in 1991 and in 1993 the production of junction boxes for automatic fuses began. At the time of the sanctions and the troubles in Yugoslavia when many products could not be imported but were in high demand, TEHNOPLAST decided to launch the production of moulds for injection of distribution boxes. We were able to do that owing to the well-equipped tool shop at our disposal. Our production covered primarily the Serbian market and the first export began in 1996. TEHNOPLAST introduces and improves new know-how and new products at the request of its customers. Our main challenge is to achieve high-quality levels based on customer requirements. Among the challenges and risks we faced was finding a way to attend (at the time new and completely unknown) fair “Light & Building” in 2004. This fair later developed into the most important fair for product promotion, networking, and acquiring new know-how. With the help of our demanding customers, we managed to stay clear of any major failures. We were financed through the company’s earnings at the outset, and then through loans, state aid for fairs and technical improvements, and through AOFI (Export Insurance and Financing Agency).
CONTRIBUTION TO SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT GOALS
In order to improve and optimise its production TEHNOPLAST keeps up to date with current trends in injection moulding technology and with innovations on the market. Our aim is also to create a better working environment, reduce the physical workload of workers, and enable their professional development. Our enthusiasm for technical improvement resulted in the procurement of state-of-the-art injection moulding machines with a separate robotic system. These machines have state-of-the-art software solutions with touch-sensitive panels that make it easier for technical staff to operate the machines. The latest generation production lines that communicate with machines include innovations in the transport system and in the techniques of drying raw materials.
We have managed to automate the system of raw material replenishment and transport of raw materials as much as we could, by reducing the physical efforts of workers, while increasing the productivity and quality of the product. We also invested in the acquisition of a polyurethane pouring machine, thereby increasing the production capacity while reducing the number of staff.
Since 2015 the number of employees has increased overall from 99 to 224 to include all profiles and education levels. Due to the company’s growth and the introduction of more innovative advanced technologies, we have trained our staff to perform complex operations on state-of-the-art machines, and thus contributed to their personal development. Salaries at TEHNOPLAST increased by 13% in 2021 and our wages policy remains an important factor in the company’s success, reflecting our attitude towards the staff. We particularly value the employment of women and young people with no work experience. At present 5 of our staff are pregnant and 5 are on maternity leave.
